Snuggling up with warm cozy mug of turmeric latte on a cold night is great and all, but brighter and warmer days are approaching. And if you’re anything like me, nothing hits the spot on a sunny spring day like an ice-cold drink.
Making lattes with turmeric has become all the rave because of the golden spice’s nutritional benefits. Turmeric consists of a compound called curcumin, which is what gives it its well-known anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is also believed that turmeric supports brain health. Interestingly, curcumin has been shown to boost something called “brain-derived neurotrophic factor,” which has been linked to improved brain function and a lower risk of brain diseases.
Luckily, lattes are absolutely not the only drinkable form of turmeric. You can also reap the rewards this powerful little spice has to offer by incorporating it into smoothies, broths, or this refreshing beverage. With the nutrient powerhouse punch of turmeric and kick of ginger, this lemonade is my new warm-weather staple!
