About

Hey everyone! My name is Anastasia Cabral, but most know me simply as Stasia. I am a registered dietitian, home cook, and avid foodie. My passion for nutrition was born in the kitchen, where I love to whip up simple, creative, better-tasting meals, that just so happen to be better for you too.

I was born, raised, and currently reside in Brooklyn, New York. I received my master’s degree in nutrition at Hunter College, and completed my dietetic internship with the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. I have experience working in private practice with one-on-one clients for personalized clinical and general nutrition counseling. It was during my one-on-one sessions that I realized one major common barrier many people face when trying to eat more nutritious meals: a lack of cooking skills. I am currently the Teaching Kitchen Program Manager for a NYC-based non-profit organization, FamilyCook Productions, where I manage several culinary nutrition programs, precept dietetic interns, and teach culinary nutrition cooking classes, in hopes of breaking down that barrier and leading people to feel comfortable and confident in the kitchen.

Outside of my day job, this blog is not only my creative outlet, but also a tool I would like to use to further break down that barrier. I’m here to reassure you that living a healthy, happy, and sustainable life doesn’t have to be complicated. My goal is to use this blog to equip you with nutrition knowledge and culinary tips to make nutritious cooking approachable, relatable, and totally doable. My approach to nutrition is quite simple. It doesn’t have to be low-carb or fat-free. It’s not about removing things from your diet or saying no to your favorite foods. It’s simply about adding real, wholesome, nutrient-dense, and most of all, delicious food to your life, for what I call a better bite.

Thank you so much for visiting Stasia’s Better Bite!
